摘要: Author(s): Rizkalla, Niveen; Rahav, Giora | Abstract: This study compares Palestinian and Jewish married couples in Israel on theimportance of differentiation the self (DS) couples’ intimacy to maritalsatisfaction. A comparison both societies’ cultures was conducted thecontinuum individualism collectivism. Data collection unique dueto participation partners. The sample included 167married from central northern Israel. analysis guided bytwo interlocking strategies: each spouse separately dyadicanalysis (actor-partner interdependence model, APIM) as units.The findings situate diversely perceived DS asmore important marital satisfaction than social-cultural variables. Eventhough were rated differently bothscales intimacy, their scores weresimilar. In addition, held different tendenciesof traits collectivism, but these tendencies interactedsimilarly with other variables, making model similar for both(i.e., correlations same direction).Our differs studies elsewhere world withcouples supports Bowen’s theory concerning universal. Theseresults have several implications that may contribute edification ofclinical therapists, improved development services, practice ofculturally sensitive therapy treatment couples.This research also help Western-oriented therapists andfamilies better tailor methodologies distinct characteristics ofthese national groups. Furthermore, shed new light Eastern- populations theworld, encouraging further challenges contemporarymarried face.
