摘要: A single anterior nostril situated above the mouth leads to olfactory organ of hagfishes. The sensory epithelium is found just bulb. cells are distributed on both sides seven lamellae that oriented in parallel median plane and attached dorsal roof cavity. receptor neurones bipolar with axons terminating two types, one type equipped microvilli their distal terminal swelling, other has cilia. Isolated have diameters around 2 μm total length including cell body dendrite varies between 40 135 μm. Recordings EOG (electroolfactogram) indicate sensitive amino acids.
