摘要: Introduced insects attract public attention primarily when they become “pests.” The impact of fire ants, killer bees, gypsy moths, Japanese beetles, and Colorado potato beetles on our economy environment is well known. last have even played roles in international politics. Ministry Agriculture under the Third Reich generated antagonism against British before start World War II with rumor that English planes had dropped larvae beetle areas where German farmers massive stores potatoes. And, during one most frigid moments Cold War, Soviet Union claimed United States bombed eastern Europe beetle, which Russian press called “the six-legged ambassador Wall Street” (Kahn 1984).
