Effects of prostaglandins on cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity in the human term placenta

摘要: Abstract Slices of human full-term placentas, obtained by elective cesarean section, were incubated in the absence or presence prostaglandins (PGs) and cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase (cAMP PDE) activity was measured. PGE 1 PGI 2 shown to stimulate cAMP PDE activity. The effect is related an increase Vmax low Km without alteration this apparent Km. Several findings suggest that activated its own substrate; promote formation which observed before activation. Dibutyryl theophylline also activate PDE. In contrast, PGF 2α does not influence either adenylate cyclase addition, we found ability placenta degrade cAMP, increases after parturition. PG levels are higher foeto-placental unit during labor, a causal relationship between these two phenomena possible. Our data supporting concept hormonal control consistent with hypothesis accelerated metabolism contributes maintenance constant equilibrium nucleotide unit.
