摘要: Spruce forestry is usually considered to impoverish animal communities but few data support this claim. This paper analyses the structure and dynamics of bird over an artificial spruce plantation age gradient compares them with those a deciduous native beechwood succession. Fifty-two species (2 489 individuals) were recorded in 14 pure evenly-aged plantations along from 2 yr 77 yr. Species richness was lowest youngest plots yr) maximal 37 plantation. Youngest recruited open habitats; fast change community composition occurred bushy stages (from 4 10 yr). Comparison between succession beech showed particularity young which has no equivalent any other both successions. Bird are very similar The avifaunas old diverge two successions respects: by (1) colonization specialized conifers, (2) occurrence birds restricted broad-leaved forests Therefore, at regional scale modifies some extent does not them.
