摘要: Monitoring of organic acids (OA) and volatile fatty (VFA) is crucial for the control anaerobic digestion. In case unstable process conditions, an accumulation these intermediates occurs. present work, two different enzyme-based biosensor arrays are combined presented facile electrochemical determination several process-relevant analytes. Each utilizes a platinum sensor chip (14 × 14 mm2) with five individual working electrodes. The OA enables simultaneous measurement ethanol, formate, d- l-lactate, based on bi-enzymatic detection principle. second VFA provides amperometric platform quantification acetate propionate, mediated by oxidation hydrogen peroxide. cross-sensitivity both biosensors toward potential interferents, typically in fermentation samples, was investigated. practical application complex media successfully demonstrated spiked sludge samples collected from three biogas plants. Thereby, results obtained were good agreement to applied reference measurements photometry gas chromatography, respectively. proposed hybrid system also used long-term monitoring lab-scale reactor (0.01 m3) period 2 months. combination monitored parameters, such as quality, pH FOS/TAC (volatile acids/total anorganic carbonate), concentration could enhance understanding ongoing processes.
