A history of methodological, theoretical and empirical approaches to biological control

摘要: A number of the seminal biological control texts such as Sweetman (1936), DeBach (1964), Huffaker (1971), Hagen and Franz (1973) Rosen (1974) document successful examples track overall development control. Other accounts exist specific episodes, Dod?s (1940) ‘The Biological Campaign Against Prickly-Pear’, for example. The most recent history available is that Van Driesche Bellows (1996). aim this chapter not to reproduce or summarise comprehensive accounts, but rather propose a chronological framework in which view various methodological approaches consider how empirical theoretical inputs have influenced its practice.
