摘要: Nursery rearing provides many benefits to the scientist, such as easy access animals; greater uniformity in conditions involving temperature, diet, social conditions, etc.; and reduced exposure pathogens that might affect research results. A number of studies focusing on both behavioral physiological processes, however, have suggested nursery-raised animals differ from raised a richer physical environment. Differences been found for measures (Champoux et al., 1991), immunological (Lubach 1995), hematological (Shannon 1998). Many these data are reviewed elsewhere this volume (see Chapters 5, 9, 12).
