摘要: The choice of processing routes for parts is often strongly influenced by high tooling costs that can only be justified when large batches are required. This paper describes a novel system producing inexpensive dies and moulds. exploits the recently developed 'incremental sheet forming' process to produce die surface, which then supported reinforcement used as conventional or mould. A demonstrator pair has been designed, constructed tested, results show even with temporary such sand, retain geometric accuracy. use this allows more widespread application incremental forming than envisaged date, it expands potential applicability beyond prototypes small allowing manufacture, validation, adjustment moulds mass production processes.
