Greatly enhanced soft x-ray generation from femtosecond-laser-produced plasma by using a nanohole-alumina target

摘要: By making an array of nanoholes on alumina target, x-ray emission from laser-produced plasma can be greatly enhanced even in soft energy regions (<0.25 keV). X-ray fluence enhancement around 30 times was achieved the 5–25 nm wavelength range. The increases as ionization level Al becomes higher and shorter. Over 50-fold obtained at a 6 nm, which corresponds to Al8+,9+ ions. pulse duration 17 ps, is much shorter than that by using prepulse technique.
