摘要: Prymnesium parvum blooms have become more frequent in the south-central United States, leading to significant ecological and economic impacts. Allelopathic effects from cyanobacteria were suggested as a mechanism that might limit development of P. blooms. This research focused on cultured cyanobacteria, Anabaena sp., parvum. Over 6-d period, daily additions filtrate senescent culture made cultures growing log phase. All treatments, including several types controls, showed reductions biomass over course experiment, but treatments receiving reduced lesser degree, suggesting was beneficial some way. unexpected outcome may resulted stimulation heterotrophic bacteria by addition filtrate, which likely contained exudates rich dissolved organic carbon compounds. then able supplement its nutritional requirements for growth feeding elevated population. These findings coupled previous observations suggest interactions between natural environments are complex, where both allelopathic growth-stimulating possible.
