摘要: The authors survey networking solutions that have been proposed for high-speed packet-switched applications. Using these as examples, they identify the specific problems resulting from very high transmission rates and explain how influence design of networks protocols. They conclude based on deflection routing are most promising ones suggest a number directions their evolution. By packet-switching protocol we mean network-specific portion third OSI layer (i.e., network layer) stack. One part (according to our definition) is scheme, i.e., set rules assign incoming packets output links. In general, can talk about following three components communication subnetwork which relevant point view: protocol; congestion-control mechanisms be effectively incorporated into topology. These closely related each other together offer single functionality. We discuss protocols employed in contemporary networks, not necessarily operating at rates. Then, some basic definitions topology component, investigate challenges posed by Gb/s >
