A review of images of nurses and smoking on the World Wide Web.

摘要: Abstract With the advent of World Wide Web, historic images previously having limited distributions are now widely available. As tobacco use has evolved, so have nurses related to smoking. Using a systematic search, purpose this article is describe types and smoking available on Web. Approximately 10 000 published over past century were identified through search engines digital archives. Seven major themes identified: smoking, cigarette advertisements, helping patients smoke, “naughty” nurse, teaching women in outside health care facilities, antitobacco images. The nursing market cigarettes was known but extent these not been reported previously. Digital archives can be used explore past, provide perspective for understanding present, suggest directions future confronting negative nursing.
