摘要: Zometapine, a pyrazolodiazepine, bears close structural resemblance to benzodiazepines. It possesses an unusual pharmacological profile, and is active in some, but not all, tests of antidepressant activity. In clinical it appears be extremely effective pharmacotherapeutic agent, may represent new class antidepressant. Because the preclinical profile zometapine unusual, we examined its effects behavioral test potential. Following three weeks treatment, drug selectively reversed depression following chronic stress. Drug-induced reversal was seen only rats activated by acute noise exposure, dose related. Reversal confirmed second measure, defecation, partially normalization elevated basal corticosterone response.
