Animal:sediment relationships in coastal deposits of the eastern English Channel

摘要: The purpose of the present study was to assess relationship between sediment composition and biological community structure in mixed sands gravel deposits eastern English Channel. Although some species are clearly associated with particular types, results confirm lack correspondence benthos particle size distribution unconsolidated sand deposits. also suggest that sample-to-sample variability commonly recorded macrofauna may reflect significant under-sampling by conventional grab sampling techniques. implications this for environmental monitoring impact studies is discussed.
