摘要: BACKGROUND This study aimed at assessing the number of red blood cell (RBC) units transfused different types medical institution and examining characteristics transfusion recipients. METHODS We calculated compared recipients, total RBC transfused, per recipient. Study data were extracted from insurance benefits reimbursement claims for Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service 2006 to 2010. RESULTS Between 2010, recipients increased 298,049 376,445, 1,460,799 1,841,695, recipient changed 4.90 4.89. The aged ≥65 yr 133,833 (44.9%) in 196,127 (52.1%) highest was patients with neoplastic diseases (31.9%) musculoskeletal system connective tissue (14.4%). More than 80% tertiary general hospitals. However, this composition rate slightly decreasing, hospitals increasing 12.6% 16.3%. CONCLUSIONS revealed an increase over a 5-yr period due especially yr; moreover, differed based on type. These results provide fundamental transfusions required future research.
