摘要: The fluorescence and the excitation spectra of 1,8‐diphenyl‐1,3,5,7‐octatetraene in octane are observed at 77 K. Special effort has been devoted to obtain correct absorption spectrum from spectrum. S1←S0 consist progressions totally symmetric C = C–C stretching vibrations built on 0–0 band. These spectral features together with appearance band indicate that molecule is distorted C2h point group. No mirror image relationship between fluorescence. Especially, vibronic involving one quantum vibration be anomalously intense. Such anomalous intensity distribution lack analyzed terms a mechanism which both Herzberg–Teller Born–Oppenheimer coupling contribute transition mome...
