摘要: Abstract Medinilla magnifica Lindl. (Melastomataceae), a Philippine-native shrub, has been found to produce diverse polyphenolic compounds, including novel forms of tannins with bioactive properties. Despite the great deal explorations that were made on tannin constituents plant, localization compounds in its organs not described. Taking this into consideration, we examined anatomy M. particular focus distribution patterns vegetative and reproductive organs. Analyses performed by scanning electron light microscopy where cells prominent histochemical stains iron salt solution. It was revealed have relatively defined plant organs, specificity accumulation around or near vascular tissues. The leaf amassed palisade mesophyll ground tissues surrounding veins greater concentration at apical region. Tannins less abundant stems adventitious roots but still concentrated structures displayed decreasing through maturation maintained density carpel until fruit-set. site-specific could indicate their protective role vital against pathogens herbivores, whereas decrease developing flowers fruits be an apparent adaptation make more palatable potential seed dispersers.
