摘要: Worldwide, fencing is increasingly being used as a conservation tool to mitigate human-wildlife conflict. However, knowledge of its effectiveness and impacts on different trophic levels still very limited. For this dissertation, the two conflict mitigation game fences in Botswana, their impact predator avoidance behaviour herbivores grass biomass key chemical characteristics formerly overgrazed areas were studied. The decision whether or not use dependent many factors has be decided case-by-case basis. This dissertation highlights need consider whole ecosystems when deemed right choice. Appropriate design, alignment maintenance are factors, which will determine success disaster for conservation.
