摘要: This article estimates HIV prevalence rates among injection drug users (IDUs) in 95 large US metropolitan areas to facilitate social and policy analyses of epidemics. IDUs these were calculated by taking the mean two estimates: (1) based on regression adjustments Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) Voluntary Counseling Testing data (2) ratio number injectors living with area. The validity resulting was assessed. varied from 2 28% (median 5.9%; interquartile range 4.0–10.2%). These correlated similar 1992 theoretically related phenomena: laws against over-the-counter purchase syringes income inequality. Despite limitations accuracy estimates, they can be used structural correlates, predictors consequences assessing targeting service needs injectors.
