Investigations on the mechanical properties of the elementary thin films composing a CuIn1 − xGaxSe2 solar cell using the nanoindentation technique

摘要: Abstract In this investigation, the mechanical properties of different layers composing a CuIn 1 − x Ga x Se 2 (CIGS) based solar cell were studied. Magnetron sputtering technique was used for deposition these except cadmium sulphide (CdS) layer which deposited using chemical bath process. We performed several indentation tests on individual layers, i.e. molybdenum (Mo) back contact layer, CIGS absorber CdS and alternative zinc oxide (ZnOS) buffer (ZnO)-AZO (aluminium-doped oxide) transparent window layer; all glass substrates. report values hardness ( H ) Young's modulus E each material, an analytical model. The Mo remained hardest most rigid, with  = 8.7 GPa  = 185 GPa, while has shown poor  = 3 GPa  = 58 GPa. On other hand, observed similarity in ZnO ZnOS might be attributed to their microstructures.
