摘要: Sludge dewatering is important in sludge management and disposal. In practice, chemical conditioners are often introduced to aid dewatering. This study investigated the simultaneous application of chitosan metal cations as dual-conditioners improve dewaterability. The performance was evaluated using three common measurements, i.e. capillary suction time, specific resistance filtration, moisture content filtered cake. effectiveness conditioning found, ascending order, be Na+ < K+ ≈ Mg2+ Ca2+ Al3+ Fe3+. Dual-conditioning further enhanced Cations may have significant effects on by neutralization negative surface charges, bridging floc components, salting out effect, leading improved dewaterability when used conjunction with chitosan.
