摘要: This work is aimed at analysing the effect of cathodic arc coatings on wear rate hardmetal integral tools used for Ti-6Al-4V face milling. The lowest corresponds to those coated with (Al0.67, Ti0.33)N materials, whereas uncoated mills presented highest rates. Al0.67Ti0.33N present tendency Built-Up-Edge (BUE) formation, which could be explained by low adhesion this coating alloy as confirmed hot pressing experiments. No significant delamination found either in or after pressing. methodology confirms effective role diffusion barriers hardmetals contact Ti-6Al-4V.
