摘要: Though biological invasion studies have proliferated in recent decades, a consistent emphasis remains on the study of single-species invasions. Here, we juxtapose number invasive plants reported as co-occurring within conservation habitats one most comprehensive global management databases (The Nature Conservancy’s Conservation Projects) with published that address impacts plants. We reviewed 86 projects and 153 peer-reviewed publications found only one-third mentioned invaders, although over two-thirds were multiply invaded, indicating researchers are more likely to single even though managers often faced multiple invaders given habitat. Of those focused invasives, majority did not attempt differentiate caused by species when alone or other instead either treated cooccurring together single, undifferentiated group compared between plant monocultures. Less than 6% all analyzed invader interactions. The high prevalence should encourage research which may better inform prioritization manage. Specifically, suggest how effects differ from what types interactions (facilitative, competitive, neutral) commonly might overall impact (additive non-additive) individual invader. acknowledge challenge studying there is critical need these questions make relevant programs.
