摘要: For the purpose of this review term “plant mycoplasma diseases” will be used to describe diseases caused by identified, as well unidentified agents considered until 1967 belong plant pathogenic viruses. Some these resemble mycoplasmas, while others bacteria. The reason for grouping walled, membrane-bound microorganisms together under a single and most certainly incorrect name has only historical justification. Since it become apparent that proliferation diseases, yellows type, big bud, witches broom certain stunting are not viral nature (Doi et al. (1967); Ishiie Nasu (1967)). At first there was tendency recognize all either pleuropneumonia-like organisms (PPLO, mycoplasmas), or psittacosis-lymphogranuloma-trachoma-like (PLT). More recently now common misnomer came into use, even though evidence etiology was, at best, circumstantial. Whether should unit membrane-bound, wall-less microorganisms, is sometimes done, questionable. genera Mycoplasma, Acholeplasma, Thermoplasma contain no known pathogens. pathogen properly characterized belongs newly recognized genus Spiroplasma. above four class Mollicutes, “mycoplasmas” might perhaps justified vernacular term, including Spiroplasmas poorly defined mycoplasmalike (MLO) associated with diseases. With reservations in review.
