摘要: The tolerability and drug interaction profiles of 6 new anticonvulsants: oxcarbazepine, vigabatrin, lamotrigine, gabapentin, tiagabine topiramate, are reviewed. In general, these anticonvulsants well tolerated problems minor with the exception risk failure oral contraceptives during treatment oxcarbazepine or topiramate. this review, clinical implications drugs discussed for different patient groups. choice which anticonvulsant depends upon individual factors, in particular, seizure type, practical administration factors. Treating elderly patients may be complicated by an increased sensitivity to adverse effects as very often receive polytherapy accompanying diseases. Drugs simple pharmacokinetic properties preferred group. Women childbearing age face specific related epilepsy anticonvulsants. These include impaired fertility, birth defects. Some suggested preference classical avoid problems, but human experience newer is still limited and, therefore, so knowledge congenital malformations offspring mothers taking Psychiatric behavioural changes frequently complicate mental retardation. anticonvulsants, particular those affecting gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) system such seem exacerbate problem should used caution patients.
