摘要: Radiation-induced carcinoma is known to occur with lower doses of radiation exposure than previously recognized. The myelomeningocele population, because its complex medical problems, exposed relatively high from diagnostic radiographs performed throughout their lives. To quantify the amount exposure, we have calculated total lifetime radiographic for patients in a clinic. Out clinic 248 patients, 112 were identified who had been followed since birth. A retrospective history was obtained each patient by reviewing hospital X-ray jackets. Using standard dose tables, calculations patient. skin ranged 3.96 171.29 rad mean 42.99 (SD 33.58). per year life 0.79 37.81 rad/year 6.38 5.72). red marrow 0.3 29.04 7.02 6.24). 0. 1 5.35 1.01 1.06). These data suggest that burden population may ultimately contribute carcinogenesis, mutagenesis and other damage. Specific strategies reducing these are discussed detail.
