摘要: Microbial degradation of dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs), either as a carbon energy source or cometabolic activity, has been shown under oxic conditions (see elsewhere is this volume),1–10 but only possible for lower chlorinated unchlorinated dioxins furans. Higher furans are persistent in aquatic environments. Because their high hydrophobicity they tend to accumulate biota sediment, which acts sink these compounds. Depending on the amount chlorines substitution pattern, sediment/water partition coefficient ranges from 105–1010.11–12 Only top layer sediment healthy (nutrient poor) system normally aerobic.Anoxic therefore most relevant fate especially higher (most lipophilic) ones. In theory, anoxic conditions, reductive dehalogenation could take place.
