Alkali-promoted V2O5 catalysts for the partial oxidation of H2S to sulphur

摘要: Abstract Present paper describes the influence of incorporation alkali metal cations (AM = Li, Na, K, Cs; and an AM/V ratio 0.04) Na-content (Na/V 0.02–0.30) in promoted V 2 O 5 catalyst on both structure catalytic performance H S partial oxidation reactions. The activity depends amount added, although Na-containing catalysts seem to be more active ones. However, selectivity sulphur higher than 98% is achieved main when working at reaction temperature lower 220 °C. According characterization results used catalysts, 4 9 selectively formed during tests presenting crystallites. In with Na/V ratios 0.04, Na 0.33 are observed, presence increasing ratio. Accordingly, can proposed as selective crystalline phase catalysts. role 4+− O–V 5+ pairs also discussed.
