The quality of psychiatric nurses' interactions with patients : an observational study

摘要: The behaviour of nursing staff in each ward a psychiatric hospital was observed at 5-min intervals for between 7 and 10 h per day days. nurses' equally divided interacting with patients, staff, solitary task oriented other behaviours. There less staff-patient interaction the acute than long-term psychogeriatric wards senior nurses interacted patients engaged more behaviour. Of interactions almost 25% were rated as positive only 0.3% negative. In 47% positive.
