摘要: ABSTRACTA new species of Toxodontia (Mammalia, Notoungulata), Pampahippus secundus sp. nov., is described based on remains recovered from outcrops the Lumbrera Formation exposed in Salta Province, northwest Argentina. The material studied consists mandibular, maxillary, and premaxillary fragments with complete incomplete teeth representing at least three individuals. It differs type P. arenalesi by its smaller size presence several dental features: I2 than I1 I3, paraconule absent P3, upper molars wider long subquadrangular, a single crista projecting ectoloph, strong mesiolingual cingulum surrounding protocone M1, conspicuous metacone fold ectoloph M1 M2, absence labial cingulids lower molars.
