摘要: This study was carried out to explore the effectiveness of different biotic indexes in Marmara Sea. The assessment ecological quality status (EQS) performed by applying BENTIX, AMBI, BOPA, BO2A and Shannon-Wiener diversity, combination with estimation total organic carbon (TOC) content sediments. BOPA tended overestimate EQS stations. BENTIX most efficient index as it demonstrated conceivable results respect TOC load successfuly determined “acceptable” or “not acceptable” sediment, which significantly correlated several benthic measures (S, N, BENTIX), proved be a valuable proxy measure evaluating likelihood impairment. When overall northern Sea discussed, region designated ecologically disturbed only 25.7% stations acceptable status.
