摘要: Since the discovery over a decade ago that noncovalent protein–ligand interactions could be maintained in gas phase of mass spectrometer, technique has been applied with great success to number problems structural biology. These developments arose directly from development late 1980s ‘‘soft’’ methods ionizing samples without fragmentation, and particular electrospray ionization (ESI) (Fenn et al., 1989). Mass spectrometry now study growing range complexes, reaching molecular masses megadaltons (MDa) case ribosomes (Rostom 2000; Hanson 2003, 2004; Robinson, Videler 2005).
