摘要: Salmonella enterica subspecies serovar Abortusequi (S. Abortusequi), a host adapted causes abortions, still births and foal mortality in equids. Though known since more than 100 years, it is problem many of the developing countries including India. There dearth really good vaccine affording immunity lasting at least for one full gestation. In search potential candidate, three defined deletion mutants (∆aroA, ∆htrA ∆aroA∆htrA) S. were tested guinea pig model attenuation, safety, immunogenicity, humoral immune response, protective efficacy persistence host. The ∆aroA∆htrA found to be safe on oral inoculation doses as high 4.2×10 cfu/animal. Also through subcutaneous mutant did not induce any abortion pregnant pigs. All illness or death 1-2 week-old baby pigs except which caused intraperitoneal inoculation. Inoculation with protected against challenge increased breeding efficiency After >4.5 months inoculation, abortifacient dose wild type mother also conferred resistance their babies similar challenge. Early response was characteristic. Faecal excretion ∆aroA htrA detected up 45 days while could after 21 results indicated that double (∆aroA∆htrA) most effective candidate vaccination mucosal route
