摘要: The chloroplast inner envelope membrane contains many integral proteins which differ in the number of α-helices that anchor protein into bilayer. For most these it is not known pathway they engage to reach their final localisation within membrane. In yeast mitochondria, two distinct sorting/insertion pathways have been described for proteins, involving Tim22 and Tim23 translocases. These routes involve on one hand a conservative sorting, other stop-transfer pathway. this study we performed systematic characterisation import behaviour seven representing different numbers predicted α-helices. We investigated energy dependence, rate, involvement components general distribution between soluble fractions. Our results show existence at least families can be classified due occurrence an intermediate processing form. Each seems use insertion envelope.
