摘要: The mechanisms or host factors involved in septic thrombus vegetation formation Staphylococcus aureus-induced infective endocarditis (IE) are unclear. Using an experimental rat model, here we demonstrated that S. aureus HG001-induced was composed of bacterial floes encased aggregated platelets and surrounded by neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). In vitro data contribute to both biofilm NET formation. Prophylactic administration DNase I significantly reduced the size induced methicillin-resistant (MRSA) methicillin-sensitive (MSSA) strains, even though MRSA MSSA isolates express different phenotypes NET-induction abilities presence platelets. Moreover, delivery daptomycin prophylactically therapeutically produced synergistic effects reducing numbers on damaged valve tissues MRSA-induced IE. Together, these suggest NETs has potential control IE clinic.
