摘要: Composite heterophase poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) cryogels containing entrapped small droplets of Vaseline oil have been prepared and studied. Such oil-filled were formed via freeze–thaw treatment freshly oil-in-water emulsions varied volume fraction lipophilic phase, the influence amount this as well effects freezing conditions on physicomechanical (shear moduli) thermal (gel fusion temperature enthalpy) characteristics resulting composites explored. It was shown that over certain range PVA concentrations in aqueous phase a hydrophobic its microdroplets performed “active” fillers causing an increase both gel strength heat endurance composites. The light microscopy data morphological features such filled revealed effect diminution size matrix compared with initial emulsions. This can be explained by disintegrating action crushing shear stresses arising upon system growth ice crystals. found to capable gradually releasing constituents (the Rose hips oil, case) response cyclic mechanical compression. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
