摘要: A new method for estimating the convection velocity of individual Fourier modes in turbulent shear flows is applied to numerical channels range Re τ =180–1880. Smaller scales travel at local mean velocity, while large ‘global’ a more uniform speed proportional bulk velocity. The modifications introduced energy spectrum by use Taylor’s approximation with wavelength-independent are then discussed. Near wall, it not only displaces large-scale end experimental spectra shorter apparent wavelengths, but also modifies its shape, giving rise spurious peaks similar those observed some experiments. This result suggests that recent challenges \(k_{x}^{-1}\) may have be reconsidered.
