摘要: We determined whether cold water swimming for six consecutive months results in adaptive changes body composition and insulin sensitivity. Thirty healthy subjects aged 50.2 ± 9.4 years were exposed to at least twice a week. Body was serum glucose served calculate beta-cell function, sensitivity, resistance using HOMA2. Compared with control subjects, swimmers overweight, had greater percent fat beta cell function. Women lower values of BMI, free mass, muscle visceral adipose tissue level, than men. Increased sensitivity decreased secretion from beginning middle swim season observed females lean subjects. Findings suggest that men women differ regard response repeated exposure. Cold may beneficially modulate acclimated swimmers.
