摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter summarizes the vast volume of literature on (cationic) clay minerals that has accumulated over past 30 years. A lot fundamental work was realized in these three decades pillared interlayered clays (PILC), particularly with Al-pillared smectites. All available data open way to numerous questions and need better understanding hydrolysis cations, even for Al ion as most studied one. Many other metal ions can act pillaring species—for example, a few papers are published PILC despite their high thermal stability acidity. The challenge will be pillar modified kaolinite or sepiolite take profit about its particular texture. These must used some industrial environmental applications. For this reason, one pay more attention point view toward concentrated dispersions. Solid–solid state reaction remains future. In spite knowledge actually PILC, two main remain (1) real structure intercalated species before after heating (2) type bonds formed between mineral host guest maintains minerals.
