摘要: Although our institution historically has been known for its use of osteoarticular allografts in limb salvage surgery tumors, during the last 8 years there an increase metallic modular endoprostheses. A retrospective review 141 patients whom a endoprosthesis was implanted past done, and survival data were compiled using Kaplan-Meier analysis, clinical score determined previously described system, multivariate regression analysis done to identify independent risk factors. There 13 failures (defined as need revision majority prosthetic components, excluding cases local recurrence) yielding overall implant 91%. Based on estimates, endoprosthetic rate 88% at 3 76% 5 years; per location, it 100% proximal humerus, femur, 87% knees, 53% total femoral implants years. The scores good excellent 74% patients. Multivariate showed that only location infection factors prosthesis failure. Loosening, infection, dislocation independently predictive fair or poor score. Age, gender, diagnosis, length implant, dislocation, nor failed prior allograft had effect outcome. humeral greater rates than knee implants. Conversion endoprostheses trend higher failure rate, but after did not prove be factor We think experience is similar other survivorship reports literature with short-term followup.
