摘要: Amplification and overexpression of c-myc have been suggested as prognostic markers in human cancer. To assess the role gene copy number alterations bladder cancer, 87 tumors were examined for aberrations by fluorescence situ hybridization. Dual labeling hybridization with a repetitive pericentromeric probe specific chromosome 8 locus (at 8q24) was performed to analyze relation on cell basis. A clear-cut amplification (up 40 150 copies per cell) found 3 tumors. There low level increase 32 remaining 84 no association protein overexpression. This suggests that gain detected does not necessarily reflect disturbed function but may indicate structural abnormality including distal 8q. The strong (8q) gains tumor grade (P < 0.0001), stage polysomy p53 expression = 0.0019), deletion 0.0403), proliferation (Ki67 index; P 0.0021) is consistent cancer progression.
