Simplified expressions for vegetation roughness length and zero-plane displacement as functions of canopy height and area index

摘要: Using a previous treatment of drag and partition on rough surfaces, simple analytic expressions are derived for the roughness length (z 0) zero-plane displacement (d) vegetated as functions canopy height (h) area index (Λ). The resulting provide good fit to numerous field wind tunnel data, suitable applications such surface parameterisations in atmospheric models.
