This term merits examination with critical eye, since strategic uses voluntary CSR initiatives go far beyond altruistic desire to improve corporate practices areas human rights and environmental protection. Through case study protest movement against Goldcorp Inc‘s Marlin Mine Guatemala, I will demonstrate that alone, without supporting framework binding enforceable regulations, is not enough guarantee protection community global south.
