摘要: The activity described in this article deals with some fundamental principles of scaling, which provides a mathematical basis for explaining many biological differences between small and large organisms. I have used college level courses, both botany courses biology majors introductory general studies. Since it builds upon simple principles, can also be high school courses. students go outside to measure heights trunk diameters trees, return the class analyze discuss their results. This experience hypothesis-testing elementary statistical analysis.
