摘要: ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether physiological severity of asthma is associated with increased psychological symptoms in children. Method Participants were 337 children, aged 7 to 19 years (mean 11.9, SE 0.13), and a parent each child. Children's was rated by experienced pediatric specialists using current guidelines from the National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute. Children filled out Manifest Anxiety Scale Weinberger Adjustment Inventory. Parents reported on their child's medical history, completed Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) about child, Pennebaker Inventory Linguid Languidness as measure own physical symptoms. Result Child-rated anxiety unrelated or markers functional morbidity. Parental ratings internalizing children related severity. Parent explained 10.2 % variance CBCL Internalizing symptoms, added an additional 6.7% variance. Conclusion Asthma may be more salient stressor parents, who turn report higher levels child for severe asthma, than themselves. Contrary prior hypotheses, did not rate themselves having those mild moderate standardized norms.
