Neutrino Oscillation Experiments at the Gosgen Nuclear Power Reactor

摘要: A search for neutrino oscillations has been conducted at the 2800-MW (thermal) nuclear power reactor in Gosgen (Switzerland), providing 5×10^20 electron antineutrinos per second. The energy spectrum of was measured three distances, 37.9, 45.9, and 64.7 m, from core. detection neutrinos is based on reaction ν¯e+p→e++n. Roughly 10^4 were registered each measuring positions. spectra are analyzed terms a two-neutrino oscillation model results represented as exclusion plots parameters Δm^2 sin^2(2theta). Two analyses performed: Analysis relies exclusively data different distances; analysis B combines with additional information, particular antineutrino derived independent β-spectroscopic measurements. Both show that consistent absence oscillations, rule out large regions (Δm2,theta). resulting limits 5 eV^2.
