摘要: Secondary metabolites produced by plants constitute a major source of bioactive substances. In this article, antimicrobials from are reviewed based on their chemical structural features. The chemistry, antimicrobial activities, and mechanisms action terpenoids, aromatic compounds (phenolics flavonoids), peptides, alkaloids, sulfur-containing compounds, other naturally occurring were reviewed, current potential applications in the preservation shelf-life extension foods discussed.
