摘要: Computational modeling of growing plant tissues raises two basic questions about cell division: when does a decide to divide and where is the new wall placed? Although biologists modelers commonly assume that divides after it reaches threshold size, recent experiments show models with variable division sizes better replicate tissue. Similarly, comparing model predictions living cells reveals choice plane variable, although shortest path dividing in half (i.e. minimal surface area) most probable plane.
