Carcinoid tumors of the alimentary tract

摘要: This paper is based on a retrospective analysis of the radiographic findings in 18 new proven cases carcinoids gastrointestinal tract. Examples lesions involving different segments together with detailed review pertinent literature are provided. Background information regarding malignant potential all particular reference to invasiveness, size, site, and symptomatology discussed. Depending time examination during their development, present either as smoothly defined, mostly small intramural nodules, or large infiltrating ulcerating looking tumors. When mesenteric infiltration present, more specific combination composed submucosal separation loops, localized kinking may be seen. The demonstration an isolated, sharply contoured defect does not exclude malignancy. less common manifestations tumoral calcifications bony metastases reviewed illustrated.
